Come see the NASCAR stars of tomorrow compete today!  This is a new series for Concord Motorsports Park, where young racing stars distinguish themselves before they move up to the next level.  The INEX Series features Legends, Bandoleros, and Thunder Roaster Cars.  INEX is the third largest short track sanctioning body behind NASCAR Weekly Racing and International Motor Contest Association (IMCA) with more then 3500 members.

Come join the fun at the FREE open house for Concord's state-of-the-art drag strip!!!!  It will include games and activities alng with tours of the 125-acre facility.  The first 200 guests to register will be able to speed down the quarter-mile strip in their own drag races.  Three-time NHRA pro stock champion Greg Anderson and NHRA top fuel winner Doug Herbert will greet fans and sign autographs.  Tickets to the drag strip's opening race will be given away through out the event.  There will be several inflatable play stations for children, also.  So grab the kids, spouses, grandparents and anyone else who wants to have a GREAT time and join us!!!
Also come see Concord Mayor, Scott Padgett, and the chairman of the Cabarrus County Board of Commisioners, Jay White, face off in their own drag race.

Herbert Gentry (1919-1930) was born in Pittsburgh and raised in New York CIty during the Harlem Renaissance.  A World War II veteran, Gentry arrived inParis for the second time in 1946 to study painting on tiem G.I. Bill at L'Academie de la Grande Chaumiere.  He honed his craft as a a painter in Paris and studied briefly under Cubist master George Braque.
This exhibition documents over forty years of the artist's career and includes more than fifty paintings, drawings and prints.  It features generous loans from the estate of Herbert Gentry, the personal collections of Gentry's wideo May Anne Rose and George N'Namdi, and three works from the George and Carmen N'Namdi Collection.
Opening Reception and celebration Friday, June 13 at 6:00pm.

Frank is a tutor of English whose disillusioned outlook on life drives him to the bottle. Rita is a hairdresser hungry to find some meaning to life. With Frank as her tutor Rita embarks on an Open University course and her education process begins. The effects are both amusing and dramatic as her fresh, intuitive approach becomes clouded and stifled as she grapples with the problem of a formal education, while Frank also learns something - to believe in himself again.
